KLIMPER are dreamy piano miniatures full of light and emotion, musical daydreams to relax or reflect. Klimper is neo-classical piano music between pop and contemporary, reminding of Einaudi, Richter, Arnalds, or Chilly Gonzales, but in its very own honest way - peaceful, deep, from soul to soul, hand- and heartmade by the German musician and multi-passionate creative Monika Herold.
Coming from a classical childhood and a jazzy youth, Monika's early influences were - among many others - Chick Corea's 'children's songs' as well as classical piano music by Claude Debussy, Edvard Grieg or Robert Schumann.
Now, KLIMPER's main inspirations are silence, inner movement and nature. The short, heart-felt pieces spring from improvised meditations on the piano, and are later composed into shape for other souls to understand, to connect and let go, to float into the in-between, to unwind or look inside.
